On data importation , modify rows with matching ID instead of throwing an error

Hello , 

as the title say , i would like that when i import data , it modify row with matching ID instead of having an error . 

The people that i'm creating a MDM for would like to be able to modify the data in large scale in  excel and import it after.

Is this possible ?

This may happen if your action set for your import action is set to "Create only".

In which case you'll need to set it to "Create and update".

Yes it is possible to create data in excel and import the records

May i know what is the error you see?

also what is the type of the record?

creating the data in excel is not the problem , i would like to modify the data in excel 

So exporting the data , modifying it in excel then being able to reimport the modified data and applying changes to row with matching ID.

For the moment , when i try to reimport , it throw an error saying the ID is already created

Yes it is possible to export the file edit it and import again

May i know what is the entity data type? , is it basic fuzzy or id matched?

Also how is the id generating for that entity?

the entity is set to basic , and the ID is set to sequence
